Sheehy focused on Newcestown

November 20, 2015

Newcestown mentor Eamonn Sheehy admits that they are only focused on their own game ahead of Sunday's Munster club IHC final.

The Cork champions take on Clare counterparts Wolfe Tones in the Provincial decider at Mallow on Sunday and it is the latter who enter the match as slight favourites.

Newcestown are enjoying their run in Munster, but Sheehy stressed to the Southern Star that they are not there to just make up the numbers.

"We don't know much about Wolfe Tones, except that they won the intermediate straight after being relegated and that they have three players on the Clare panel," said Sheehy.

He added: "We're going into the unknown and it would be great to win it. But we're being realistic about the challenge ahead. Whatever happens now, it has been a great season for us and we'll be playing senior next year."
