Hickey: we've a point to prove

Clare defender Shane Hickey believes that until they beat a 'big' team, they won't be a force to be reckoned with.

The Banner have that opportunity on Sunday as they take on Cork in the Munster senior football championship semi-final.

Cork are raging hot favourites to progress to yet another Munster final, while Clare are seeking their first championship win over the Rebels since 1997.

"We will go down with the hope of winning but I suppose there is still a huge question mark over us in terms of beating a big team," Hickey told the Clare Champion.

"We've had opportunities against Armagh and Kildare last year and we haven't got over the line. So there is that question mark.

"Can we get over the line against a big team? I hope we give a performance on Sunday. It's going to have to be a complete performance if we are going to win down there."
