i think its obvious who the team to beat is!! the main challengers to the gaels crown are gowna because they are the closest to the depth in squad that the gaels have. that was pretty much stating the obvious but anyway...i think the other contenders for the championship are (in descending order): mullahoran, castlerahan, crosserlough, lacken, cuchullains...my opinion, just putting it out there, you can take it if you want...if not just send it right back!!

Any predictions for the first round of the senior championship? It's a pity Ballinagh are gone because it would have been an interesting clash with Killygarry as they are flying at the minute. Gaels are again the team to beat and hot favourites but they have a tricky opener against Lacken. Mullahoran should have far too much for Belturbet who seem to have really gone backwards. Can the Cucu's carry their league form into championship? Is this the year that Castlerahan finally build on their promise or will the likely loss of Sean Brady prove too much? It will be interesting to see if Kingscourt can raise their game for the championship as they have better players than their performances this year suggest. Is there another kick left in Gowna? Knockbride would be my favourites for relegation. What about Denn and Crosserlough? Two mid table teams for the last few years

brefini blue you are saying sean brady will be a big loss for castlerahan.there is nothing wrong with him and he wont be missing any games, yes he did go off injured in the friendly against laois last week but he is fine now

i heard at the weekend that jason reilly's back is in a bad way & is doubtful to play much gaa again. Anybody confirm this. if its true, its a pity, great servant to the cavan jersey. Belturbet will be seriously weakened in the championship without him.

lacken will put it up to the gaesl but i expect a comfortable win in the end.Gaels by 6/7

Crosserlough will beat Gowna

Ramor will beat the Cucus by a nice margin

Denn have a real banana skin here.Peter & larry could turn it.But i have to pick Denn

Belturbet will be Mullahorn fact.Hard to score against. They were missing 4 top players against Denn, don t be fooled.

Killygarry will beat Ballinagh if they meet.Play more economical foootball.

Castlerahan will dispose of Kingscourt aswell..

Wonder what odds i ll get.
