A sort of homecoming

With Ballyconnell continuing to develop at a rapid rate, the future of the Kildallan club looks assured. As the most prolific developer in the Ballyconnell area, Rogers Homes is contributing in no small way towards the future well-being of one of the Breffni County's most progressive clubs. Development, progression and growth are the buzzwords in and around Ballyconnell these days. Fine new homes are popping up at an impressive rate, in keeping with the area's burgeoning reputation as one of the most desirable locations in the county. The knock-on effect should prove extremely beneficial to the local GAA community, namely Kildallan GFC, a club which has made great strides of late and will undoubtedly continue to do so on the back of the imminent population swell. As he hails from a GAA background himself (in Tempo, County Fermanagh, to be exact), Brian Rogers of Rogers Homes is only too delighted to be playing his part in the exciting, tasteful transformation of the scenic Ballyconnell landscape. Rogers Homes' head office is at 40 Pubble Road, Tempo. Brian set the company up seven years ago, having worked extensively in the construction trade for a number of years prior to then. Through a series of magnificent residential developments in Enniskillen and Ballyconnell, Rogers Homes has quickly forged a reputation for quality workmanship on both sides of the border. In the process, the highly respected construction company is contributing handsomely to the building boom that has seen Ballyconnell evolve impressively. Rogers Homes has been developing in Ballyconnell for the past three years. The company has just finished a project called Amberwood, which was marketed predominantly for first-time buyers and investors, and is currently active on a new project - Daisyhill Manor. The new development is wide-ranging and has something to suit everybody, with a total of five different house types, from retirement homes to 2,500 sq. ft. family homes. The Daisyhill Manor development of prestigious luxury homes can be divided into the following house types: Inis Domhnaigh, Inis Fraoigh, Inis Mor, Inis Da Bharr and Inis Beag. An exclusive development of distinctive family and retirement homes, Daisyhill Manor is situated on the main Cavan Road out of Ballyconnell in a central location - 28km from Cavan and 24km from Enniskillen. Nestled in a peaceful setting, it offers a wonderful panoramic view of the countryside, all within a five-minute walk of Ballyconnell town with its full range of local services and amenities. Some of the lakeside views in the area are nothing short of breathtaking, ensuring that residents enjoy all the benefits of both town and country life. The north county town of Ballyconnell markets itself. A thriving industrial/tourist centre, it rests upon the Woodford River and boasts one of the countries most desirable hotels in the form of the Slieve Russell Hotel, Golf & Country Club. It's also an industrious town, with factories such as Boxmore and the nearby Quinn Plant as well as a host of local businesses and shops playing a key role in generating employment locally. As a developer, the aim of Rogers Homes is to provide premier workmanship with an eye to detail and design. Specialising in high quality, prestigious developments, Rogers Homes provides the perspective buyer with nothing short of excellence. Indeed, Quality and Excellence remain Rogers Homes' seal from commencement to completion. Drawing on the latest technology, the company's appointed architects design and plan developments to required specifications. Developments are not just a combination of different house types, but are also designed in such a way that they enhance the striking natural beauty of the area. From subfloors stage right through to putting roof tiles in place, careful planning and consideration is placed upon choice of materials to promote energy efficient homes, allowing the buyer to reap knock-on financial rewards. A relatively new company, Rogers Homes was formed in 1997 and set about developing both private and public sector properties at a steady pace. The family run business provides quality homes and also boasts the experience and expertise needed to offer technical advice to buyers making vital choices regarding the finish of their dream home. During the work in progress, Rogers Homes ensures that all subcontractors on site have a proven track record to maintain a high standard of workmanship. The company also has an outstanding health and safety record and has won many awards for the quality of its construction, specification and design. All homes at Daisyhill Manor will have a tarmac finished driveway, with all exterior work completed. Clients receive an all inclusive turn-key package deal, including fully-fitted kitchen with oven, hob and extractor fan, standard fire surround, high quality fitted bathroom and ensuite, ground floor cloakroom and WC, and interior paint finish to walls and ceilings. To complete the package, the following general specifications are also included: white/woodgrain uPVC double glazing, oil-fired central heating, panelled doors with ornate iron mongery, hardwood front door, moulded redwood rosette architrave and moulded skirting. Houses are wired for burglar alarm and smoke detectors, with maintenance-free exterior, tarmac and kerbed driveway, garden levelled and topsoiled, detached garage/storage shed to rear. Though the majority of work is subcontracted, Rogers Homes carries a core staff of eight persons full time. Back home, Brian is involved in the Tempo Maguires club, as are his three sons Neil, Bernard and PJ. Neil played MacRory Cup with St Michael's of Enniskillen and is just breaking onto the Tempo senior team. Bernard and PJ are both studying at St Michael's at the moment. Regarding the ongoing work in Ballyconnell, Brian notes: "It's a growing town and I suppose that's largely down to the Quinn factor. Ballyconnell's got a lot going for it and that's why so many people want to live there. Obviously, the more people there are living in the area and attending the Primary School, the better it is for the local GAA club."
