"The trouble at the parade was just one of those things, a once-off"

There is no bad blood between Cavan and Armagh, insists Breffni defender Killian Brady.

A pre-match parade 'shemozzle' marred the last time the two counties met in the championship in 2014 but, speaking to The Irish News ahead of tomorrow's clash with the Orchard County, Brady poured cold water on suggestions that there is any lingering tension between the two sets of players.

"A lot was made of the craic about the parade at the time and maybe, from a Cavan perspective, the football we played - or didn't play that day - was lost in the mix," the Mullahoran clubman - who made his championship debut that day - said.

"The trouble at the parade was just one of those things, a once-off.

"As far as I'm concerned, the stuff that happened at that time is in the past. I know there's been no follow-on from that in the matches we've played against Armagh since in either the McKenna Cup or the National League.

"I can't see anything similar happening this time at Breffni Park either but if it does, I hope we are in the right position at the time and behind the right flag 'cause nothing hardly went right for us after the shemozzle before the game that day!"

Brady isn't reading too much into the 17-point hammering they dished out to Kieran McGeeney's charges in their recent league encounter.

"We've been getting plenty of reminders that there was 17 points between us in the League but it's gonna be a lot closer this time and I'd settle for a one-point win.

"They didn't really seemed up for it in the League game against us but they'll definitely be a different proposition this time around. They had a good run in the league after we played them and they've some very good players. Stefan Campbell will take some watching and Aidan Forker is a very good attacking half-back.

"They'll be gunning for us and I'm sure they'll use the headlines from March as motivation to get revenge and get into the semi-finals. We probably find ourselves in a similar position to 2014 in that we're going in as slight favourites.

"We sort of belly-flopped in the Athletic Grounds, but everyone is determined for that not to happen this year."
