As Dublin, Tyrone, Clare and Louth celebrated league success over the weekend, we select our football team of the week...

1. Stephen Cluxton (Dublin)

It's becoming something of a cliché at this stage but the Dublin captain's superbly executed kick-out strategy was the launch pad for numerous attacks.

2. Philly McMahon (Dublin)

Wasn't as dominant as last September's All-Ireland final but still limited Colm Cooper to just the one point from play.

3. Jonny Cooper (Dublin)

The all-action defender played a major role in completely snuffing out the considerable attacking threat posed by the Kingdom.

4. Cathal McCarron (Tyrone)

Handed the task of curbing Seanie Johnston's influence, McCarron didn't let his side down as the Breffni forward managed just one point from a placed ball.

5. Derek Maguire (Louth)

The attacking half-back caused Antrim plenty of problems and finished as the Wee County's top scorer with a return of 1-2.

6. Conor Moynagh (Cavan)

To his credit, kept pushing forward and can't be faulted for effort but Cavan simply finished second best to the better team on the day.

7. Tiernan McCann (Tyrone)

McCann and the Red Hands will be a force to be reckoned with in this year's Anglo Celt Cup race.

8. Colm Cavanagh (Tyrone)

A vital cog in Tyrone's well-oiled defensive system, the Moy clubman proved to be the rock on which many a Cavan attack perished.

9. Gary Brennan (Clare)

The Banner County captain led by example and his finger prints were all over their two goals against the Lilywhites.

10. Jim McEneaney (Louth)

The hard-working Geraldines clubman will remember his 59th minute goal for a long time.

11. Paul Murphy (Kerry)

Kerry's display left a lot to be desired but Murphy never let the head drop and kept plugging away.

12. Ciaran Kilkenny (Dublin)

A scorer of two points, Kilkenny and his colleagues were all singing off the same hymn sheet yesterday.

13. Connor McAliskey (Tyrone)

The opportunistic Tyrone corner-forward pick pocketed Cavan to the tune of five points.

14. David Tubridy (Clare)

His 35th minute goal and five pointed frees were key ingredients in the Banner County's winning formula.

15. Bernard Brogan (Dublin)

The former Footballer of the Year sent over four points from play and came out on top in his personal duel with Marc O Se.
