Cootehill Celtic GAA Club Notes
SENIORS
The Seniors continue their preparations for the Quarter Final clash with Drumalee in Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday 4th September at 8 pm. The boys played a challenge match at the weekend and the tough training continues and all will needed as it is sure to be a tough clash with the Cavan town side.
MINOR DIVISION 2 CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS
Well to the Eire Óg Celtics team (the Cootehill - Drumgoon amalgamation) who enjoyed a comprehensive win over Blackwater Gaels in final of the Farnham Arms Hotel Division 2 Minor Championship last Tuesday evening in Kingspan Breffni Park. The boys got in front early on thanks to a goal from Tom Hayes and never looked back. The game was practically over at the break as the East Cavan side were 4 - 4 to one point ahead and the miracle that Blackwater needed never happened after the restart. The final score had Eire Óg Celtics four goals and nine points to just four points from Blackwater Gaels.
All the Cootehill men on the field had excellent games with Hayes grabbing another goal, John Carney giving a top performance at wing forward, goalkeeper Ryan Carroll saving a penalty in the second half and was solid throughout and centre forward Enda Hessin deservedly grabbing the Man of the Match Award. Congrats to all involved!
JUVENILES
The Juveniles have a busy weekend ahead of them with the Under 8s right up to the Under 14s all heading away for trips. The Under 8s will head out to Tanagh Adventure Centre on Saturday for a fun filled day of activities while the Under 10s, 12s and 14s are going to Croke Park on Sunday to watch the Down - Kildare All Ireland Semi Final and will also take in a visit to the Croke Park Museum. Good luck to everyone and enjoy the day!!
Back on the Football field, the Under 14s had a great 8 point win over Shercock in the Roinn E Championship Quarter Final up in Shercock. That victory puts the young Celts into a semi final meeting with Redhills next Monday night so best of luck lads!

HUGH O'REILLY PARK
Cootehill Celtic GAA played hosts to the All-Ireland Minor Camogie Championship as Hugh O'Reilly Park was the venue for the clash of Armagh and Meath on Saturday afternoon last. Both the pitch and the grounds were in top condition so it was another chance to showcase our fine park. Thanks to all who helped out on the day and congrats to Armagh who were 4 point winners in the end.
AND IN OTHER NEWS....
Congrats to all club members who received their Leaving Cert results and CAO applications in the last week or so. Hopefully everyone got what they wanted and is happy!!
