Cootehill Celtic Club Notes
March 09, 2010
Seniors
Training for all senior and junior players continues every Tuesday and Friday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at noon. The league opener against Drumalee is just a couple of weeks away so it's important to keep up all the hard work.
Cavan GAA Media
Hard luck to Colm Smith who lost out to Lavey's Stephen Jordan for Intermediate Player of the Year on Friday last at the Cavan GAA Media Awards. Still it was a great honour for both Colm and the club to be nominated for the award and hopefully we will be back next year with a bit more success!!
Membership
This year's membership is now due. Adult membership is priced at € 25, Students at € 10, Juveniles at € 5 and a family membership costs € 60. Membership can be paid to our joint registrars Jimmy McBride or Kieran McCarville or to any member of the committee. Hopefully membership will be available through the club website in the next few weeks but until then you will just have to do it the old fashion way - in person!
Clotto Results
This week's numbers were 5, 9, 15 and 28. There was no jackpot winner and the five €20 winners are Kevin King, Cootehill; Brian Connolly, Cootehill; Jim McNally, Drumgoon; Joe & Serena, Annalee and Catriona Coyle, Cootehill.
Next Weeks jackpot is €5,200. Clotto envelopes are on sale at just € 2 and watch out in the coming weeks for the opportunity to buy your clotto on the club website.
Under 16s
Training for the Under 16s takes place every Tuesday and Friday at 7 pm in Hugh O'Reilly Park. The boys will take part in the second and final day of the Christopher Shields Memorial Tournament this Saturday 13th on the new 3G at the back of Kingspan Breffni Park. Cootehill will be in Group 2 where they will face St. Joseph's (again!), Lavey and Shercock with the first match at 10.45 am. The group winners will qualify for the semi final later on that day. Sevens football is very exciting and enjoyable for players and spectators alike so come along and show your support.
Under 8 and 10s Training
Training for Under 8 and Under 10s has started for the year and takes place in St. Michael's Hall, Cootehill every Saturday morning at 10.30 pm. Everybody welcome - especially newcomers!
Coaching
The club has decided that all club coaches should have at least a foundation level coaching course and will be running one of these courses in the next couple of weeks. If you are interested or have a preference for day, date or time get in contact with Aidan McCabe on 086 3381427 or email
[email protected]The Cavan Coaching and Games Development Committee will be hosting a workshop by former Armagh footballer and Ulster Coaching Officer Diarmuid Marsden on "Adapting FUN Games (U8-U12)" on Monday 22nd March at 7.30 in Kingspan Breffni Park. The workshop is free of charge and all are welcomed to attend.
