Greene glad of pressure relief
July 04, 2008
Carlow hurling manager Jim Greene expressed sheer delight with his side's winning performance in the Christy Ring Cup against London last weekend at Dr Cullen Park.
The Barrowsiders put up a hefty tally of 2-24 on their opponents to stroll to an emphatic win, and Greene believes now that much of the pressure that was on his side is now off following poor performances in the NHL and Kehoe Cup against Meath and Westmeath.
"That pressure is off now, we have a good solid Championship performance behind us, we're as good as in the quarter-finals and looking forward to giving the Christy Ring Cup a right go now."
A quarter-final place in the Christy Ring Cup will be guaranteed if Down defeat the Exiles this Saturday in Ruislip.
