Carlow chief hopeful of no hitches for Centre of Excellence project
August 19, 2010
Carlow County Board chairman Pat Deering wants construction work on the planned new Centre of Excellence to commence by early October.
The County Board has been approved planning permission for the venture in Fenagh, which is slated to cost approximately Eur3.5m.
A four-week period in which appeals can be lodged is almost at an end and Mr Deering is looking forward to pressing ahead with the project.
He told the Nationalist, "It's full steam ahead now, the actual work it is hoped would start near the end of September or early October. Obviously if someone goes to An Bord Pleanala that would be a fly in the ointment, but if they don't it will be full steam ahead."
