Ryan leaves door open
March 04, 2010
Carlow hurling manager Kevin Ryan has stressed that the goalkeeper David Miley is welcome to rejoin the squad at any time.
Miley reacted with anger to being dropped off the team for last Sunday's comfortable win over Westmeath and immediately withdrew his services from the squad.
However, Ryan stressed that it was a personal decision to drop the Erin's Own 'keeper and that it was just to give Kevin Kehoe a chance between the posts.
"He withdrew himself off the panel," Ryan told the Carlow Nationalist. "We were changing the keeper this week and he feels hard done by. I think it is a shame that we haven't got him. There is a lot of stuff that we want to work on with him.
"If he decides this wee or in three week's time. The door is open for him. He is annoyed after working hard over the years to be number one and he is just upset."
