"With colleagues like that who needs enemies?"

Wexford's Coiste Na nOg has hit a crisis after three members of the board resigned in the last week.

Long serving Treasurer Noel O'Keeffe tendered his resignation last week and then on Monday, news broke that chairman Bobby Goff and secretary Angela McCormack had also resigned.

A meeting of the Coiste Na nOg was held last week where the secretary was seeking support for Goff and PRO PJ Howlin in their respective bids to be elected at the adult convention.

However, they did not receive that backing and subsequently resigned from their positions.

O'Keeffe is also the vice-chairman of the county adult board and he tendered his resignation to county board chairman Diarmuid Devereux.

The Wexford People reports that O'Keeffe was not impressed by the way the situation was handled.

He said: "Our Coiste PRO PJ Howlin, put up on the GAA facebook page seeking support for Derek Kent as chairman.

"I have been sitting on the under-age committee with him, but then at the meeting they came out seeking support for Bobby (Goff) for Coaching Officer and PJ for PRO.

"This support was sought by secretary Angela McCormack and it was just an after thought that I was mentioned. With colleagues like that who needs enemies?

"Later that night and the following day I thought about it and went into a rage. There's not a bit of straightness or honesty involved here. This was totally outside the Coiste na Og remit and should never have happened."
