New Wexford manager Seamus 'Banty' McEnaney is confident that the talent is in the county to move forward.

The Model County currently languish in Division Four of the NFL and one of the Monaghan native's first goals will be to try and get them up the league.

Banty is convinced the players are there for them to achieve their goals having come up against Wexford in his roles as Monaghan and Meath manager in the past.

"I believe there is good talent in Wexford," Banty told the Wexford People. "I would have managed against seven to eight of their team previously. They won a Leinster under-21 in 2011.

"For whatever reason there was only two of them playing last year. I believe there is more talent in Wexford that can be tapped into.

"They are in Division 4 for a reason. Now, my job is to maximise that talent. I was seriously impressed by the enthusiasm of the players and everybody I spoke to in Wexford about Wexford football."

McEnaney has brought in Tyrone native Martin McElkennon as his coach, while former Wexford footballer David Murphy is his assistant manager and selector.
