Cloughbawn 1-11

It was a case of lucky 13 for Oulart-The Ballagh as they produced a strong second-half showing to see off the challenge of Cloughbawn in the Wexford SHC final at Innovate Wexford Park.

With new Model County boss Davy Fitzgerald watching from the stands, the reigning Leinster champions overturned a one point half-time deficit - 0-6 to 0-7 - thanks to a commanding second-half display.

A flurry of late points from Eoin Moore, Garrett Sinnott, Tommy Storey, Peter Murphy and Dessie Mythen broke Cloughbawn's brave resistance and sealed title number 13 for the winners.

Martin Kehoe struck a stoppage time consolation goal for Cloughbawn.

"We struggled for periods of the first half but once we opened up the game in the final quarter, we managed the crucial scores," victorious manager Frank Flannery remarked to The Irish Independent.

"Fair play to Cloughbawn, they put up a huge fight but we are delighted to now go forward and defend our provincial title."
