Liam Dunne is set to re-apply for the Wexford senior hurling manager's position after completing his five-year term with the Slaneysiders.

The county board are currently seeking nominations for the post following the expiration of Dunne's term after last month's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final defeat to Waterford and Dunne is understood to be putting his name forward once more.

The 1996 All-Ireland winner admitted that he was uncertain over his future with the Model County in the aftermath of their 10-point defeat to the Deise men, but he is now expected to be the front runner for the role again.

Dunne's native Oulart the Ballagh have nominated him for another term in charge, while it is understood that at least two others have expressed their interest in the Wexford hotseat.
