Wexford county board chairman Diarmuid Devereux says they have no issue with Croke Park's decision to reschedule two of their Leinster championship games this summer.

It was confirmed yesterday that the provincial hurling quarter-final between Dublin and Wexford and the football quarter-final between the Slayneysiders and Kildare, which is due to take place on May 29, have been brought forward to May 21.

The decision was taken in order to facilitate Bruce Springsteen's concert planned for May 27 at Croke Park, which is expected to sell two more dates, and Devereux has said that the Model County are happy to reorganise their club schedules to make way for the concert.

"We recognise the financial benefit there is to the association to stage an event like this in Croke Park," Devereux told the Irish Independent.

"The games are going ahead in Croke Park. We were always looking forward to that," he added.

"Every county can potentially benefit from this. As regards local fixtures we have plenty of time to rearrange our schedules."
