One of Wexford's leading referees has called for a complete overhaul to help improve the standard of refereeing in the county.

John Denton is arguably Wexford's most experienced referee have first officiated in the late sixties and he has written a letter to the county chairman and secretary urging them to overall the standards and general practices of refereeing.

In the letter of which excerpts were published by the Wexford People, Denton states 'our present referee's administration committee leaves a lot to be desired and the refereeing situation in general - implementation of rules, appointment of referees and the administration of refereeing - has to be improved.'
