The famous Wexford Rackards from left Billy, Bobby and Nicky.

Nicky Rackard was born in Killane, County Wexford, on October 28th, 1922.

He went on to become one of the greatest hurlers in the history of the game.

Rackard made his senior intercounty championship debut for Wexford in 1942 and represented the Model County in the championship up until 1957, winning two All-Ireland medals, four Leinsters and one National Hurling League. He also collected a Leinster SFC souvenir.

Nicky made a total of 36 championship appearances for Wexford and his brothers Billy and Bobby also won All-Ireland medals with their county.
