Relief was the over-riding emotion for Wexford's Jack Guiney following today's absorbing All-Ireland SHC qualifier replay victory over All-Ireland champions Clare.

Prior to being presented with RTE's 'man-of-the-match' award, the Model County star said: "We made very hard work of it!

"We knew we were good enough to put it up to Clare and we knew if we got into position, if we took our chances we could beat them.

"The first day we didn't take our chances and for a long time there today we didn't take our chances but thankfully in extra-time they started going over.

"It's a big boost. Winning Leinster U-21 back-to-back is a big boost and then beating the All-Ireland champions at home is a massive boost.

"But it's up to us now to keep our feet on the ground and not get carried away. We've won nothing yet with the seniors. We want a bit of silverware."
