Notable treble for Wexford hurlers

Three Wexford players have been voted Hurler of the Year at their respective colleges.

Rathnure clubman Jack Guiney - just out of minor this year and already a senior intercounty sensation - became the first-ever Fresher to collect the prestigious UCD accolade.

And Rhys Clarke from Faythe Harriers, who is just 19, was voted WIT Hurler of the Year - also in his first year at the university.

These awards come a few weeks after Naomh Eanna's Brendan Travers was chosen by his peers as Player of the Year at St Patrick's Training College.
