Ryan: We didn't do ourselves justice
July 19, 2010

Wexford manager Jason Ryan
Jason Ryan was disappointed that Wexford didn't play to their maximum in their All-Ireland football qualifier loss to Cork.
Wexford's leading attacking trio of Matty Forde, Ciaran Lyng and Redmond Barry only managed one point from play between them as the Slaneysiders succumbed to the much-fancied Rebels by 0-5 to 0-12 in the driving wind and rain at Wexford Park.
"The fact that the lads fought and fought until the very end just shows the spirit they have. But we'll go away thinking that we didn't perform to our capabilities and that's the disappointing thing," the Wexford boss said.
"Their handling was superior to ours in the second half. They kept the ball out of contact and were in control of it. Credit to them for that. We went down the field in the second and weren't as clinical as we'd like to be.
"There were balls dropping short and their goalkeeper caught a few. If those points went over, it would have given us more encouragement. It just wasn't to be."
