Great credit is due to Fethard N.S. who have only recently entered the camogie competition. However on this occasion Kilmuckridge proved to be just too strong. The Alley girls dominated the first half and by the interval led by seven points courtesy of a Georgia Warren goal, and a goal and a point from the excellent Sophie Donnelly. Fethard to their credit never gave up and Stephanie Foley, Rose Wallace and Cora Cullen in particular played extremely well. The goal they so badly needed to re-ignite their challenge never materialised however due mainly to good goalkeeping by Rachel O'Leary and an outstanding defence display from Sorcha Foley. Sophie Donnelly added two further points to give Kilmuckridge the victory and the Rackard cup which was presented by a delighted Maria Butler.
