Meyler says Dubs are favourites

Former Wexford manager John Meyler believes all the pressure will be on Dublin in Sunday's Leinster SHC semi-final at Nowlan Park. The Our Lady's Island man, who was removed from the Wexford hot-seat in controversial circumstances last autumn, feels Dublin's NHL Division 1 experience, coupled with the 'Anthony Daly' factor, makes them favourites to reach their first provincial hurling final since 1991. "Dublin will be favourites for Sunday because they've had seven games in the first division and they've played to a higher quality of hurling in Division 1," he said. "Wexford failed to get out of Division 2 but they'll tell you that they won the All-Ireland in 1996 when they were in Division 2, so that doesn't really matter to them. "Wexford had a really good win against Offaly, I thought. It was very comfortable, whereas Dublin were struggling against Antrim in the first-half, and if Antrim had taken their scores before half-time, they would have gone in a few points up. "Again, there's huge pressure on Dublin on Sunday because with Daly there, everyone is saying that this is the year of the breakthrough."
