Ryan despondent

Wexford football manager Jason Ryan
Jason Ryan cited Wexford's failure to win enough primary possession as the main reason for their defeat to Kildare in the Leinster SFC.
"We are very disappointed. Everyone hates losing, but the manner of it was very disappointing," the Model County manager said.
"In the first half, we knew Kildare were going to come at us hard and we felt we weathered the storm and created a few opportunities we missed and came in at half-time disappointed not to be closer or maybe even up.
"I was gutted with the lack of ball we won. If you don't win primary ball - and we just didn't win it. There were maybe four clean catches in total and it was just breaking ball and we didn't win enough.
"We made mistakes and mistakes were caused by being under pressure, but we are coming away from this very disappointed. Our full forward line were starved of ball, we were far too slow getting the ball in. Kildare put men behind the ball and you can't afford to be slow releasing it."
He added: "I hope it's not difficult to lift them. Unfortunately, we can't answer that now, it's something only time will tell."
