Monageer-Boolavogue 5-7 Kilmore 3-5 Monageer-Boolavogue captured the Wexford Minor hurling Division Three Championship title on Sunday last with an exhibition of goal scoring against Kilmore at Wexford Park. Both teams had netted inside the first three minutes, with Kilmore drawing first blood through their midfielder Thomas White and the winners responding through the superb Michael Sweeney. Kilmore dominated the following 10 minutes from there and struck points through Aaron Goff, White and Mark Maloney to take a 1-4 to 1-0 lead, but the winners would hit their purple patch from then until the break with Sweeney to the fore. The corner forward pucked his second green flag, before Niall O'Reilly struck over some brilliant frees, and would complete his hat-trick, after a mistake from Kilmore 'keeper Noel Casey, just before the break to surge Monageer-Boolavogue 3-5 to 1-4 ahead at the break. A Mark Walsh tap-in, after a strong run from Niall O'Reilly, sealed Monageer's fourth goal, and despite their opponents bagging two majors through their captain Stevie Cousins, their fifth three-pointer from Niall Finn had sealed the deal.
