Wexford Creamery Roinn C Final Bannow 3-6 Ballygarrett 1-8 A goal in the last minute sealed a famous victory for Bannow in this pulsating Wexford Creamery Roinn C decider. This match lit up the overcast conditions with the skill and pace of both teams as they served up a rip roaring encounter. Ballygarrett played with the advantage of a gusting wind in the first half and they settled to their task quickly. Live wire Michael Murphy opened the scoring with a neat point and this was followed with a opportunist goal on six minutes. Powerful midfielder David Doran's piledriver was brilliantly saved by Richie Walsh but Eoin Corcoran was quickest to the breaking ball and he finished from close range. Bannow took their time to get into the match but they got the perfect tonic on twelve minutes when the towering full forward Adam Diskin broke through the heart of the Ballygarrett defence and unleashed an unstoppable shot to the net. From the kick out Liam Nolan found Diskin with a neat pass and he split the posts from twenty five metres on the run for a fantastic point. Ballygarrett rallied and Luke McEvoy capitalised on good work from David Doran and Michael Burke to fire over a brace. However Adam Diskin had the Ballygarrett rearguard in a spin and again on eighteen minutes he smashed his way through and finished to the net despite losing his footing to make it 2-1 to 1-3. Aaron Diskin now got in on the act as he rocketed over a 45 against the wind for an exceptional score. The Gorey District boys had the final say of the half when Daire O'Byrne split the posts from long range to make it 2-2 to 1-4 in favour of the Bannow . Ballygarrett warmed to their task in the second half and they raised three white flags in a row courtesy of Luke McEvoy and a double from Michael Burke from frees to edge into a two point lead. Micheal Murphy reduced the lead to the minimum but Bannow can thank Clem Rossiter for a fantastic block on Cathal Dunbar as he bore down on goal. Bannow levelled matters on seventeen minutes when Conor Neville pointed a free after Adam Diskin was brought down. Jack Doyle pulled off a great save from Liam Nolan at the expense of a 45 which Aaron Diskin dually converted to push Bannow back into the lead with seven minutes left. Michael Burke led the Ballygarrett charge upfield and he pointed a free after he was fouled himself. Aaron Diskin pointed his third 45 in an exhibition of free taking to restore Bannow's lead with three minutes left. With excitement at fever pitch Conor Neville intercepted a pass and launched a high ball over the Ballygarrett defence into Micheal Murphy and he made no mistake from close range to send the Ross District supporters wild as they held on to win 3-6 to 1-8.It was fitting that joint captains Aaron and Adam Diskin should receive the Rackard Roinn C Cup from John Brennan of the Rackard League. Best for a gallant Ballygarrett outfit were Jack Doyle, Dara Cahill, David Doran, Luke McEvoy and Michael Burke while Bannow had stars in Sean Keating, Kevin Doyle, Micheal Murphy and Adam and Aaron Diskin.
