Coleman over the moon

November 07, 2008
St Martin's manager Roy Coleman was one of the proudest men in Wexford Park last Sunday as his side defied the critics to lift the County SHC title. Oulart-the-Ballagh were strong favourites to lift the title, but St Martin's caused a surprise to come out on top in an entertaining contest. Coleman points to the fact that there was little talk of them before the final and he feels that this certainly had a positive effect on their preparations. "The build-up to the game was very low key. We kept a low profile which suited us," said Coleman. "We played our last two championship games in conditions that were not ideal for hurling which led to people taking their eye off us, but we had ideal preparations all year."
