Extra goals and fitness sees Duffry win

Duffry Rovers achieved a comfortable win over Sarsfields in their second round Wexford Football Championship tie played at Bellefield on Saturday evening last having successfully ground down the opposition as half-time approached. In the final quarter of the game, the winners added two goals to open up a ten-point margin and it was in added time that Sarsfields got their only goal. Six minutes before half time, the first of the winner's goal came, which represented the different in scores at half time. The extra fitness of the local side proved crucial in the second-half and as the game progressed. Scorers for the Duffry included Paul Nolan with a goal, Johnny Flynn O'Connor (0-4), Brian Clinch (0-2), Donie O'Connor (0-1), David Armstrong (1-0) and Matthew Flynn O'Connor (1-1).
