Wexford star must play waiting game

All Star and Young Player of the Year nominee Rory O’Connor is hoping the appeals process will allow him to line out for St Martin’s in Sunday’s county SHC final.

O’Connor was sent off in the semi-final and was subsequently handed a one-match ban which rules him out of the county final against St Anne’s.

However, the club are going down the appeals route, to try and get the player’s suspension overturned.

Last year, O’Connor’s Wexford team mate Cathal Dunbar had his suspension overturned just hours before the county final and he went on to help his club Naomh Eanna to victory over St Martin’s, ironically.
