Tipperary will renew acquaintances with Cork in this year’s All-Ireland U-20 HC final after disposing of Wexford in today’s semi-final at Nowlan Park.

An eight goal scoring spree saw Liam Cahill’s charges emerge victorious on a scoreline of 8-16 to 1-15.

Senior star Jake Morris top scored for the winners with 1-5 while Jerome Cahill, Andrew Ormond and Billy Seymor all chipped in with a brace of goals.

Substitute Sean Hayes also found the back of the Model County’s net as the Premier County finished with 20 points to spare over the Leinster final runners-up.

Corner forward Ormond raised two green flags in the opening period as the Munster champions built up a 4-6 to 1-7 lead by the halfway stage.

Sean Keane Carroll netted the Wexford goal while centre-forward Ross Banville raised four white flags via placed balls in the first 30 minutes.

The number 11 doubled his tally in the second-half but was powerless to prevent his side from slipping to a heavy defeat.

Tipp dominated from start to finish and led by 2-5 to 0-5 at the end of the opening quarter.

They were 6-11 to 1-11 to the good at the three quarter hour mark and will now face Cork – who defeated Kilkenny by 1-16 to 0-13 yesterday - in what will be a repeat of the provincial decider.

On that occasion they required an injury-time Morris goal to pip the Rebels by 3-15 to 2-17 so another close encounter is anticipated.
