Wexford manager Paul McLoughlin was delighted to see his side pick up their second win of the FL4 campaign.

The win over Wicklow at Aughrim moves them up to sixth in the table with two rounds of the league to go.

McLoughlin has come in for some heavy criticism during the campaign as it was felt that Wexford would be genuine contenders for promotion, but that never materialised.

However, their second win of the campaign eases the pressure on the Kildare native slightly as he stressed to the Wexford People that they are a work in progress.

“We played to a good plan and got the job done,” stated McLoughlin. “We could have won by seven or eight points, but it was a solid game plan and it won us the game.

“They played like men, did not panic, and stuck to the game-plan. This is a process and things will not happen overnight.”
