Rory OConnellDuring the week Rory OConnell announced his retirement from Inter-County football. Rory was one of the great servants to Westmeath in recent years and he deserves a “Míle Buíochas” from all Westmeath supporters.Westmeath Club Development and Planning Programme Tubberclair GAA club is the first club in Westmeath to have completed a strategic plan for the next three years through the County Development Committee. The seven clubs that have completed their club planning course are in the process of completing their plans and these are expected to be in place by October 1, 2005. From this date also clubs who have not done a Pre-AGM will have the opportunity to begin the work toward completing their club plans. 14 Westmeath clubs did a Pre-AGM last year and the remaining clubs should now book a night through the Development Officer as soon as possible.
