Moate All Whites club notes

October 24, 2016

In underage football, the annual finals of the street leagues were held on Saturday morning in Hogan Park.  There were three matches involving over 100 kids on the day and with Dessie and Emily on the BBQ it couldn't have gone any better.  This event brought the curtain down on U6, U8 and U10 football for the year and a fantastic day was had by all. Special thanks to Keepak who provided the burgers to feed all the stars of the future.  The club would also like to thank Flogas who sponsored the the street leagues this year and Don Allen for hosting the after party disco for the kids.  Thanks also to all the parents for all their baking and cooking on the day.

The U21 championship kicked off on Friday night where Moate took on Millmore Gales under the lights on a cold wet evening.  Millmore started the better of the two teams and Moate struggled until a great goal from Eoin Kelly settled them down and at half time we went in 2 points up on a score of 1-5 - 1-3.  Moate were much better in the second half scoring 1-10, the goal coming from Aaron O'Neill to see off a spirited Millmore Gales on a score of 2-15 to 3-5.   Team and scorers were as follows: Alex Ryan, Jake Fannin, Andrew Gorman, Conor Claffey, Dylan Ennis, Paul Gorman, Gavin Murray  0-1, Daniel Ledwith, Ruairi Cunningham  0-2  1xF, Conor Sheridan, Billy Berry 0-1, Aaron O'Neill  1-3, Robbie Forde  0-5  3xF, Eoin Kelly 1-1, John Corbally  0-1, SUBS Paul Sheridan  0-1 for Conor Sheridan, Ciaran Ennis for Daniel Ledwith

The club would like to offer their sympathies to the family of Olive McCallon who passed away on Friday.

Finally, the Club AGM will be held on November 25th in the Carmelite at 8pm
