Donnellan confident of upset

Castledaly manager John Donnellan believes that his side can rise to the occasion as they prepare to face Tyrrellspass in the county SFC semi-final.

The south Westmeath side go into Sunday's match as underdogs and outsiders of the four teams left to lift this year's Flanagan Cup.

A replayed quarterfinal win over Killucan will have brought on Castledaly according to Donnellan, but the former Galway footballer admitted that they will have to be at their best this weekend.

"Most of the experts in the media and elsewhere expected us to fall way short of making a quarter-final, but we feel that we've a good group here and we would have set the bar higher," Donnellan told the Westmeath Independent.

"We've achieved some of our goals and fallen short of others, but we'll continue to do our jobs to the best of our ability and see where that takes us."
