Ladies Championship
St Lomans Mullingar 1.14 Garrycastle 2.09
St Lomans ladies booked their place in the Championship final after a commanding display against Garrycastle in Páirc Ciaran Athlone on Sunday afternoon last.
Garrycastle opened the scoring with a point from Aoife Connolly but it was St Lomans who were dominant in the opening ten minutes and took advantage of their possession with points from the deadly duo of Bridgie Heslin(2) and Sarah Mc Manus(2). The southsiders responded with a goal and a point to take the lead once again. The blues were in determined mood and once again registered four answered points with both Bridgie Heslin(2) and Sarah Mc Manus adding to their tallies while the impressive Lucy Mc Cartan kicked a point. Both teams exchanged scores in the closing stages of the half with Ciara Blundell pointing to leave St Lomans two in front at the interval.
St Lomans stepped up the gears in the second half and Clara Thornton raised the green flag to set them on way to victory after Bridgie Heslin's shot rattled the crossbar. Garrycastle responded with scores but some resolute defending from St Lomans made sure they never went back in front with centre back Rebecca Dunne putting in a powerful display. A wonderful score from Julie Mc Loughlin and points from Lucy Mc Cartan and Sarah Mc Manus gave St Lomans a strong lead. Garrycastle got their second goal in injury time to reduce the margin but the blues held on to seal a place in the final.

Junior Championship
St Lomans ended their Junior Championship campaign with defeat against a much superior Mullingar Shamrocks side in Springfield on Saturday evening last.
Shamrocks opened the scoring with a point which was quickly followed by a Jordan Warde goal. James Cox and Paraic Mc Comb got St Lomans off the mark with points to cancel out two further points for the home side. Shamrocks got a crucial goal via Jordan Warde once again and this gave them a comfortable lead. Sean Flanagan, Conor Matthews and Declan Colgan kicked points in the second quarter but it was Shamrocks that had a strong half time lead.
An early goal and a point from shamrocks corner forward Brendan Reilly extended their lead in a lacklustre second half display from St Lomans. Conor Matthews added two points to his tally but the deficit never looked like been overturned as the home side finished comfortable winners.

Minor Championship
St Lomans Mullingar 1.13 Inny Gaels 2.05
St Lomans travelled to Finea for their second group championship game on Wednesday evening last.  The home side provided tough opposition as St Lomans had to battle hard right up to the final whistle to secure the points.
Inny Gaels made the perfect start and registered two goals and a point in the first ten minutes. James Cox and Kevin Regan kicked points to settle St Lomans into the game. Both teams exchanged scores throughout the half but a wonderful Ryan Cleary save denied Inny Gaels another goal as they held a four point lead at the break.
St Lomans went on the charge in the second half and a man of the match display from Ronan O Toole proved pivotal. The centre forward's early points started the comeback. Fola Ayorinde kicked a point before a goal from James Cox secured a vital win for St Lomans. The blues defence deserve huge credit for holding the home side to just two second half points.
The win along with another result in the group booked St Lomans path to the knock out stages. The final group game against Moate will be a battle for top spot!

U16 Championship
St Lomans travelled to Kilbeggan on Monday evening last and recorded a comfortable win over a Kilbeggan St Joseph's combination. It was a game where the result was never in doubt despite a gallant effort from the home side.
St Lomans set an early marker a raced into a 1.04 to 0.00 lead with Adam Kennedy getting the goal. Adam Lynch, Eoin Fox and Kyle Smith added points before Dáire Mc Loughlin rattled the net after great set up by Shane Boyce and Conor Shaw. Adam Kennedy got his second goal of the game thanks to a sublime Dáire Mc Loughlin pass. Jamie Stone replied with a goal and a point for the home side. The blues added points before the break while Conan O Hara raised the green flag for St Lomans fourth goal.
St Lomans continued their dominance in the second half and although Kilbeggan added two goals to their tally the result was not for changing. Shane Boyce (2) and Conor Shaw added goals for the blues to seal an impressive win. The lads now face neighbours Mullingar Shamrocks in the final group game and will be aiming to secure top spot.

U14 Championship
St Lomans Mullingar 3.13 Killucan 5.06
St Lomans and Killucan played out a thriller on Tuesday evening last with the game played in front of a large crowd at Killucan's impressive facilities. The rain stayed away for the hour and the sun added to the free flowing game of football.
St Lomans started brightly but couldn't get their name on the score sheet and it was the home side who took an early lead with a Jamie Carr point and a Conor Broderick goal. Fionn O Hara settled St Lomans into the game with three points. Danny Mc Cartan cancelled out a Killucan point before two quick goals from the home side gave them the edge. Hugh Mulhearn got his name on the score sheet just before half time but it was Killucan that held an eight point lead at the break.
The blues sprung into life in the second half as they have done in previous outings and impressive scores from Adam Mc Nally(0.02), Conor Regan(1.01) and Fionn O Hara(0.01) brought St Lomans right back into contention. Killucan added another goal to extend their lead but St Lomans dug deep and battled hard at this crucial stage of the game. The blues defence really upped their game with Jack Geoghegan and Andrew Daly leading the line. Substitute Josh Murphy worked hard in the half forward position.
The turning point came when the classy Danny Mc Cartan somehow found the back of the net when the chance seemed gone. Adam Mc Nally added a goal to cancel out another goal from Killucan. It was a tense finish to the game and it could have went either way right up until the final whistle but two late Hugh Mulhearn points secured a vital win for St Lomans.

St Lomans Mullingar 4.09 Coralstown Kinnegad 3.12
St Lomans played Coralstown Kinnegad in the final group game on Sunday morning last with the blues knowing they needed a result to have a chance of reaching the knockout stages of the championship. The game was played under sunny conditions in Lakepoint Park and this determined St Lomans team didn't disappoint.
Konradh Kupferschmidt opened the scoring with a point before Kinnegad quickly registered a goal and a point. A wonderful goal line stoppage from Evan Johnson denied them a second goal and this would prove crucial. St Lomans dominated the majority of the first half and points from Fionn O Hara, Conor Regan and Hugh Mulhearn gave them the lead before Regan reacted quickest to finish to the net after a Fionn O Hara shot hit the crossbar. Kinnegad kicked two points before the break to leave just four points between the teams.
Kinnegad raced out of the traps early in the second half and the sides were soon level.  James Carolan and Conor Regan(2) added goals in a wonderful second half. The visitors added goals of their own and there was no separating the teams at the final whistle as both teams had to settle for a draw.

1500 Club Draw
The July 1500 Club Draw was made recently. This month's top prize of €1,300 was won by Nicola Cox, Mylestown, Killucan.  Second prize of €400 was won by Edel Witter while Orla Morrissey, Brendan Cuskelly and Monica Gavin collected €130 each! Congratulations to all our winners!
Lotto
There was no jackpot winner from the lotto draw on August 26th. The numbers drawn were 6,7,21,23. Winners of €50 each were Sean Kieran, John Kieran, John Casey and Joe Carroll. Next week's jackpot will be €2,200.
