Senior Championship
St Lomans Mullingar 2.11 Killucan 1.05
St Lomans made it three wins from three in the senior championship on Tuesday evening last with the game played under perfect conditions in Cusack Park. It was very much a game of two halves with either side enjoying dominant spells.
Shane Dempsey opened the scoring with a point after linking up with Ronan O Toole and Paul Sharry. Killucan responded immediately and burst through the blues defence and a fine move saw James Nugent bury to the net. Paul Greville extended their lead with two points in a bright opening quarter for Killucan.
St Lomans substitute Paddy Dowdall made an immediate impact winning numerous breaks and he made some crafty dispossessions. Both teams exchanged scores in the second quarter with Shane Dempsey (2) and David Morgan kicking points for the blues. The latter of Dempsey's points was set up by a wonderful David Windsor pass. Paul Greville got the final say of the half to leave Killucan a goal in front at the interval.
St Lomans upped their game considerably in the second half with the blues defence holding Killucan to just a single point. Gerry Grehan put in a fine display throughout while Paul Sharry and David Whelan excelled. Adam Gaffney and Cathal Burke continue to look like an impressive partnership in midfield.
David Whelan and Paul Sharry got St Lomans off the mark in the second half with both points kicked from beyond the 45m line. The turning point of the game arrived when a high Shane Dempsey effort dropped short and substitute Ciaran Kilmurray won a goal mouth tussle and he sent the ball to David Morgan who finished to the net with aplomb.
This spurred St Lomans into a scoring spree in the final quarter. Ken Casey converted a free while Kieran Lynam's hard working display was rewarded with a point of his own. Ciaran Kilmurray sealed a fine display with a goal and a point while Paul Sharry coolly kicked a 45m free. David Morgan finished the scoring with a point to see St Lomans finish nine point winners.

St Lomans Mullingar 1.11 Tyrrellspass 2.17
St Lomans suffered defeat in a high scoring encounter in Cusack Park on Sunday evening last. The win leaves Tyrellspass as group winners and sends them straight to the semi final.
St Lomans got off to the perfect start and were four points up after eight minutes. Garrett Hickey(2) and Shane Flynn(2) both kicked points in a bright opening for the blues. It was a half where both sides had dominant spells and Tyrrellspass responded with points from Dean Mc Nicholas, David Jessop, Brian Slevin and David Glennon to level the game. Kelvin Reilly put St Lomans back in front with a point before Garrett Hickey won a short kick out from Tyrrellspass and his ball found Shane Dempsey who finished to the net. Paul Sharry and Shane Flynn extended the blues lead but Tyrrellspass pass added four points to leave just a goal between the sides at half time.
Tyrrellspass raced out of the traps at the start of the second half and were level after points from Conor Slevin(2) and Ger Egan. Garrett Hickey pointed for St Lomans but his score was quickly cancelled out. Goalkeeper Jason Daly made a wonderful save mid way through the half to deny a certain goal. U14 Championship
St Lomans Mullingar 3.15 Mullingar Shamrocks 2.08
St Lomans and Mullingar Shamrocks were up against each other in the Championship on Thursday evening last in Lakepoint Park. It was a local derby that didn't disappoint with high quality scores aplenty.
St Lomans set an early marker and raced into a five point lead with midfielders Konradh Kupferschmidt(2) and Fionn O Hara(3) kicking the points. It looked as if this game would be one-way traffic but the visitors had other ideas. Blues goalkeeper Rory Matthews denied Shamrocks a goal with an impressive save but they soon raised the green flag with another effort. Both teams exchanged scores in the second quarter including two wonderful points from the tenacious centre back Andrew Daly. St Lomans held a slender lead at half time.
A wonderful solo effort from Fionn O Hara saw him finish to the net to extend St Lomans lead early in the second half. Shamrocks responded with a goal and two points in what was turning out to be a mighty battle. The classy Fionn O Hara added four points and when he sent another shot towards goal corner forward Danny Mc Cartan buried the rebound to deal the hammer blow!
