Preview: SHC qualifier: Westmeath v Limerick

July 04, 2015

Limerick's captain Donal O'Grady leads out his team.

Limerick manager TJ Ryan has rung the changes ahead of tomorrow's trip to Mullingar.

Captain Donal O'Grady, All-Star Seamus Hickey and Declan Hannon are notable absentees from the Treaty County 15.

Goalkeeper Barry Hennessy and defender Stephen Walsh also lose out in the reshuffle which sees Nickie Quaid, Paul Browne, Wayne McNamara, Kevin Downes and Seanie Tobin all starting.

The Shannonsiders are attempting to pick up the pieces following the heavy 1-16 to 4-23 defeat they shipped at the hands of Tipperary in the Munster SHC semi-final.

Michael Ryan and Westmeath, meanwhile, are in bonus territory despite their 1-16 to 1-24 Leinster quarter-final defeat to Wexford.

Their cause is boosted by the return of Shane Power, Niall O'Brien and Robbie Greville.

Power missed the Model County clash after sustaining a facial injury during the pre-match warm-up while O'Brien and Greville were suspended.

Injury robs the hosts of the services of Eoin Price and Niall Dowdall while Darragh Clinton drops to the bench.

Verdict - Limerick.
