Castletown Geoghegan Hurling club notes

Intermediate Championship
We played  St.Brigids  in the semi final of the Intermediate Championship. knowing it would be a huge task taking on their first team eager to return to senior ranking the lads were well up for the game. after a shaky start to the first half a couple of fine scores settled down the youthful Castletown outfit, a well taken Cormac Deegan and some fine scores from Pat Clarke kept us in touching distance of St.Brigids heading into half time. As the second began the opposition found their rhythm and started to pull away with a lead. Castletown never died though and some fine work again from the two minors Cormac Deegan and Paddy Doody created another fine goal. in the end the St.Brigids team oulled away and were winners on the day with a scoreline of 2-18 to 2-11. this caps off the year for our intermediate team. im sure everyone that has witnessed this team in this competition never left unsatisfied by the hunger, determination and mostly the skill level.    Team: Sean Maher, John Gallaher, Ronan Corcoran, James Fox, Shane Herathy, Frankie Deegan, Cathal Daly, Eoin Quinn, Darren Ruane, Alan Clarke, Liam Cassidy, Paddy Doody, Cormac Deegan,Pat Clarke, Brendan Heeney
