FL2: Rosemount fall to Castledaly

April 22, 2014
Rosemount 1-12
Castledaly 3-8

Rosemount started this game brightly in perfect conditions in Castledaly on Sunday morning, with three unanswered points from David Tone.

Paddy Holloway then pounced for a goal to level the sides after ten minutes. Declan Mullen put us back in front with a free but almost immediately, Paul Kelly goaled for the home side. Having done most of the hard work and playing well we still found ourselves trailing by two at the break, 2-1 to 5 points. When Kelly pounced for his second goal midway through the second half we were seven in arrears.

But the lads put in a fine final quarter and a great move from end-to-end saw David Tone palm to the net, for the goal of the game. Another point brought us to within three before Dude McCormack's pile driver skimmed inches over the bar to leave just two between the sides at the finish. This was an excellent game of football where both sides will most likely be satisfied with the outcome.
