Leinster MHC: O'Hehir on song for Lilies

A personal haul of 1-6 from Eoin O'Hehir sent Kildare on the road to victory in the Leinster MHC against Westmeath on Saturday at St Conleth's Park.

The Lilywhites centre-forward struck for 1-5 in the first half and the they led by 2-7 to 1-6 at the break with Tadgh Forde also raising a green flag.

Westmeath enjoyed the better of the early exchanges in the second half and reduced the deficit to the bare minimum before a Cathal Melville goal nipped their comeback in the bud.

Kildare now face Carlow in two weeks' time, while it's an early exit for Johnny Greville's Lake County outfit who had high hopes of making progressing in this year's championship.
