Division 1
St Lomans Mullingar 0.09 Castledaly 0.07
St Lomans hosted Castledaly in the Division 1 league in Lakepoint Park on Tuesday last with the game played under drizzly conditions.
Both teams struggled to adapt to the slippery surface in the early stages of the game and it took a Paddy Dowdall point in the sixth minute to register the first score. Castledaly soon responded and broke through the St Lomans defence only to meet Gary Glennon who made a wonderful block with the away side pointing from the resulting 45. Paddy Dowdall got his second point of the game midway through the half and Brian Murphy soon added to the blues tally with a well taken point. Both sides exchanged a point each towards the end of the half with Kelvin Reilly converting a free leaving just two points between the sides at half time.
The second half started brightly for St Lomans with Garrett Hickey getting two points including a fine score from distance. The away side responded with a scored free before Kelvin Reilly and Ciaran Kilmurray added points to St Lomans tally. It was Castledaly who were to finish the game stronger and four unanswered points left the minimum between the sides before substitute John Heslin converted a free after Michael Gleeson had been fouled to see St Lomans finish two point winners.

A busy week on the road for St Lomans involved a trip to Moate on Saturday evening last to contest the Division three league.
Conor Cochrane opened the scoring after four minutes from a Michael Gleeson pass but it was the home side that were to dominate the half aided by a strong wind. Moate replied with two points and a wonderful goal hit to the roof of the net that left goalkeeper James Mc Kenna with no chance. Points from Niall Mc Gurran and Michael Gleeson kept St Lomans in touch midway through the half but six unanswered points from Moate left the home side with a strong lead at the interval.
