GARRYCASTLE 2-12 ST LOMANS 1-15
Six days after losing by seven points to Mullingar Shamrocks, who themselves had recently lost to St. Loman's by ten points, Garrycastle Juniors hosted high-flying Loman's last Thursday in a game they probably needed to win to remain on course for a play-off place. Lining out minus their full back, centre back and midfielder from the Shamrocks game, Garrycastle conceded two points in the opening two minutes and looked in trouble even at that early stage. However, for the remainder of the game they gave at least as good as they got and in the end were a little unlucky not to gain the two points they wanted. Still, honour has been restored and all they can do is try to win their remaining four games and hope that either of the Mullingar teams slip up somewhere along the way.

Garrycastle led by 2-6 to 0-9 at half time but conceded a goal and two points just after the break. Loman's soon stretched their lead to three points and were playing with the confidence of a team sitting at the top of the table. Garrycastle showed great character in the final quarter and their determination was rewarded with a share of the points that keeps them in the hunt.

TEAM: Shane O'Connell, Gary Mullery, Alan Fox, Stephen McGuire, Colman Gantley, Robbie Fox (0-1), David Broughan (0-1), Anthony Larkin (0-1), Noel Galvin (0-2), Brian Carty, Peadar Mulvihill (1-0), Michael Monaghan (1-1), Paul Gunning, Robbie Shine (0-5, 2 frees), Paul Mulvihill (0-1).
SUBS: Ronan Donohue for Broughan (injured); Mark Curley for McGuire (injured); Enda Keena for Gunning; Damien Rushe for Carty and Sean Carey for Gantley.

No Dogs on Club Grounds
Garrycastle GAA club wishes to remind everyone that dogs may not be taken onto the club grounds. This arises from the health threats associated with dog faeces, particularly in areas where young children play. Toxocariasis is a disease caused by roundworm eggs found in dog faeces that may potentially result in eye problems or blindness, and children are particularly at risk. Accordingly, members and non-members are reminded that they should not under any circumstances bring dogs on to the club's grounds.
