Moate All Whites club notes

June 17, 2013
Acl Div 3
Moate 1-11 St Lomans 0-9
This was a must win game if we were to have any chance of promotion and,for a variety of reasons, our squad was down to the bare bones. That said it is a sign of the strength in depth starting to emerge that despite that we were still able to register a win in a game that started off in perfect conditions but ended in a deluge.Tommy Ryan had a fairly untroubled hour with Paul McLoughlin,Colin Bracken and Jack Linnane standing firm in front of him,We competed well around the middle and up front young Ruairi Cunningham was very impressive in his first full start in a strong half forward line with fellow teenagers Cian Bradley and John Corbally who contributed 1-9 between the three of them.Panel:T Ryan,P McLoughlin,S Byrne,G Hurley,R Gorman(0-1),J Linnane,C Bracken,E Dalton,C Costello,R Cunningham(1-1),C Bradley(0-6 5f),J Corbally(0-2f),J Gillivan(0-1),N Mackey,D McCardle,T Dowling.

U12 League
On Wednesday last we played host to St Malachys / Ballinagore in our last game of the Go Games. The game was a good sporting game despite the weather conditions, with both sides giving their all. Both teams started well and it was 7 mins before the first score was registered due to some excellent defending on both sides. As the half went on we took hold of the game and at half time the score was 8 pts to 1pt in favour of Moate. The visitors regrouped in the second half and had scored 4pts in 5 mins to bring themselves back into the game. Slowly but surely our lads started to come back more into the game and took control at midfield and on the half back line, this possession was in turn worked up the field and converted into scores. St Malachys / Ballinagore to their credit never gave up and got some fine scores themselves. The final score was Moate All Whites 13 pts St Malachys / Ballinagore 9pts.
