Intermediate Championship Final
All roads lead to Cusack Park for the final versus Fr.Daltons on Saturday next, 29th September at 5pm.This is our first final since 2005 and we urge all involved with the club,young and old to get involved in the run up to the final.A training fund has been set up for the final and all donations would be greatly appreciated.Anyone who donates will get a mention or an advertisement on our website. There may be a few flags still available to buy, contact Paul Murray on 087-7867663. The club urges all supporters to get behind the lads on Saturday evening and be the 16th man, as I'm sure our opponents supporters will be shouting loud.

Crookedwood Camogie
Congratulations to the ladies on winning the under 12 camogie final and the Junior semi-final on Saturday last. Hopefully the double can be done and there will be great celebrations in the village next weekend.

All-Ireland Football Final Ticket Draw
The winners of the All Ireland Football Final, tickets were Tom Connell and Christopher Geraghty.

Condolences
Crookedwood GAA extends its deepest sympathy to the friends and family of Stella McCormack who passed away recently. Ar dheis de a raibh a hanam.

Westmeath Referees
Best of luck to James McGrath (and his team of umpires) and Barry Kelly who will be on duty in Croke Park for the All Ireland hurling final replay. Their roles will be reversed this time as James is taking charge of the big game and Barry will be patrolling the sideline.

2012 Intermediate Final Pen Pictures

Aaron Orme Age 19
Aaron is one of the most skilfull players in the club, has a huge strike and can always find the right pass at the right time. Can play in a any position on the field and excell.

Adam "Reina" Mitchell Age 29
Adam has been known to rip a net or two in his time with his explosive shot power, is a good man under a high ball and has the head to know where to be at the right time, he is a very dedicated hurler that knows where the goals are. Has won a longford senior hurling championship in '07' and a junior championship for The Wood in '08'.

Alan O' Mara Age 35
Our junior captain this year and has played in every position over the years. Has played corner back in intermediate this year an has hurled superb when doing so. Alan is very good under a high ball and is tough as nails to any forward who steps in his path. Taking part in his sixth intermediate final Alan has won 2 junior and an intermediate championship as well as 4 intermediate cups.

Andy Boyhan Age 22
Andy is a very speedy and skilfull hurler who has a bright hurling career ahead of him.He knows exactly where the goals are when called upon.Has represented Westmeath at underage level.Holder of U18 and Junior championships.

Antoin Savage Age 25
Antoin is a long serving wood man despite only been 25 and his contribution to the team is vital if the wood are to win today.Antoin commands the defence and sets up attack after attack with his clever use of the ball.Playing in his sixth Intermediate final.Has represented Westmeath at all grades.Holder of U14,U18,Junior,Intermediate championships & int. Cup.

Aodan 'DON' Boyhan Age 17
A new member to the panel that has no fear in him and will make it extremly hard for any forward that comes his way, has 4 school hurling medals and 3 football medals for The Downs.

Barry O' Mara Age 21 (vice captain)
Barry is our teams vice captain and has brought a work rate to the team that has never been seen before in the wood. His all round game is up their with the best of them and has the ability to lift a team with moments of magic.Has represented Westmeath from U14 to U21 aswell as the great honour of playing for his country in the U21 shinty hurling 2011.Holder of U12,U14,U18,junior championship's aswell as a int football championship with Bunbrosna.

Brian McLoughlin Age 19
A young player who has burst into the team and shows great drive and determination.A great fielder of the ball and can take scores from any distance.His work rate is second to none and is a handfull to mark.A dual player with Multy.Holder of Leinster and North Leinster schools medals.

Conor Hyland Age 22
Conor has come back this year and has added alot to the team, his tackling, reading of the game and will to take no prisoners is inspiring to watch. Always gives everything on the pitch and will cherrish the opportunity to get his hand on an int. medal. Represented Westmeath from U14 to U18 and won an All Ireland football medal with Colaiste Mhuire Marino.

Conor Savage Age 17
The youngest of the savage brothers, a new member to the panel this year but you would'nt think it of late. He has great skill, determination and his workrate is to be admired. Has represented westmeath all up along the grades and won an U16 All Ireland B medal in 2011.

Damien Grifferty Age 30
Damien's reading of the game is second to none and his speed make's him a tough defender to beat.Can play anywhere on the field and will make an impact on the game.His experience makes him vital to the wood's defence.Playing in his sixth intermediate final.Represented Westmeath at U21 level winning Leinster and All-Ireland U21 B medals.Holder of U16,U18,2 Junior & Intermediate chamionship,U18 league,4 int. Cup medals.

Darragh O' Keefe Age 19
Darragh has made the tranistion from underage to int. in great fashion, has a great strike off either side and will always give his all when on the field of play, is a dual player and plays his football with St. Lomans.

David Newman Age 22
David is a solid and very clever defender who makes any forward work hard for their scores.His dedication is all or nothing and we wouldnt expect anything less coming from the well known football family in Bunbrosna.Holder of U18 and Junior championships and int football.

Edward Nally Age 21
Edward shows his dedication with his long journey to and from the wood for every session.A player that uses his strength very well and gives 100% at all times.A clever distributor of the ball and is capable of taking a score.Dual player with Milltown and as represented Westmeath from U14 to minor including a feile and two All-Ireland B finals.Holder of 2 intermediate medals wit DIT.

Enda Murray Age 30 (Captain)
Enda is the team's captain for the third time and wants nothing more than to lift his father's cup.An experienced defender who has played in every position for his club and is playing in his sixth intermediate final,Enda is also a great leader on and off the pitch.Represented Westmeath at U21 level winning Leinster and All-Ireland U21 B medals.Holder of U16,U18,Junior & Intermediate chamionship,U18 league,4 int. Cup medals.

Gerard Brennan Age 27
Gerard has been our regular full forward this year and has chipped in with some great scores, as well as some great assists along the way. His physical presence on the edge of the square is very hard to cope with, and will fight for every ball today.Playing in his sixth intermediate final Gerard has represented Westmeath at U16,U18,U21 plus senior level and was part of the victorious 2005 Crookedwood team.Holder of U16,U18,Junior & Intermediate chamionship,U18 league,4 int. Cup medals aswell as 2 intermediate football championships.

Gerard McGovern Age 21
Gerard has been very unlucky with injury this year, has been a regular on the team the last few years and if he is anywhere near fit today will play a big part. A very tight back that can deliver excellent ball into our forwards, has represented Westmeath from under 14 to under 21 and won a junior championship.

Henry Reilly Age 23
Henry is another who is looking to win his second intermediate championship today, has hurled with the intermediates from a young age and has skill and strenght in bucket loads. Can play in any position and is very reliable under a high ball. Henry is a dual player and plays his football with multy, which he captained this year. Has won 2 junior, 2 minor and 1 intermediate championship and an intermediate cup.

JJ Brennan Age 28
JJ is a very committed player that has performed to the max this year, his toughness and correct decision making is second to none and knows where the goals are when required, was part of the 2005 victorious team and would love to collect another medal today. Has also won a U16 ,U18 championships,U18 league,junior and intermediate championship as well as 4 intermediate cup medals.

Johnny Orme Age 37
A legend in the club, played a star role when we last lifted the int. championship scoring 3-8 in the final. Has the brain to leave any defence in tatters and his accuracy is there to be admired by all. Playing in his sixth intermediate final and a dual player with Multy Johnny has won a junior and intermediate championship as well as 5 intermediate cup medals.
Kevin Orme Age 24
Kevin has become an excellent hurler and has super skill. Has been hit with injury this year but if hes fit to play, will be a big asset to the team. Broke into the Westmeath panel this year and showed he can mix it with the best. Holder of U12,U14 two U18's,2 junior championships,1 intermediate championship and 2 intermediate cups

Kieran Brennan Age 30
Kieran has got back into the set up this year, and has took up where he left off, his explosive speed, reading of the game and score taking can cause havoc to any defence in the county. He has trained extremly hard since comin back and will play a big part today. Kieran has an intermedite championship in hurling,junior, intermediate, All Ireland minor B, and leinster minor football championship medals to his name and has played for his country in the compromise rules.

Kieran Yourell Age 19
Kieran is a very dedicated hurler, whose work rate is up there with anyone around. His abilty to split defences open and lay off a pass is a joy to watch and will give his all today to win. Kieran has won a minor hurling championship and an under 21 football championship with Bunbrosna.

Michael Savage Age 24
Michael is one of our best hurlers on his day and has a great head to read a game, can play in any position comfortably, he also has a super strike of the ball and is a great leader on the field of play. He will give his all today. Has won U12,U14 two U18's,2 int cups,2 junior and 1 intermediate championshipand represented Westmeath at minor level.

Noel Yourell Age 27
Noel is another experienced player who uses his strength to burst through defences and take good scores.An extremely dedicated hurler who misses very little during the year and is having one of his best years to date.Playing in his sixth Intermediate final.A dual player with Bunbrosna and has represented Westmeath at U21 level.Captained the wood to a Junior championship in 2005 and is also holder of an Intermediate championship medal aswell as 4 int cups and 2 Int football medals

Richie Crowley Age 26
Richie has given huge committment to the cause this year, and has been a regular on the team. He has a wicked side step and work rate has become a big part of his game, has also got some vital scores along the way. Has won U14 and U18(as captain), intermediate championships as well as 2 intermediate cups for The Wood.

Ronan Scally Age 21
Ronan has broken into the team this year and hasnt looked back.A very dedicated hurler who loves to find a pass when clearing from his defence and is also good under a high ball.A dual player with Bunbrosna and has represented Westmeath hurling from U14 to U21.Holder of U18 championship,Int. Football,2 Leinster rugby medals and Trench cup college medal.

Seamus Savage Age 22
Seamus is a very skilful hurler who can play in either attack or defence and will give 100% to the team.Has broken into the Westmeath senior panel this year and is another great reader of the game.Is having a great year after shaking off serious injuries in recent year's.Holder of Junior championship medal.

Shane Collins Age 24
Shane is a very skillful hurler that has a huge strike of the ball, was a member of the 2005 panel and would love to add another championship to his collection today.Represented Westmeath from U14 to minor.Holder of U12,U14 two U18's,2 int cups,2 junior championships,1 intermediate championship and an U16 All-Ireland B.

Shane McGovern Age 20
Shane has quickly rose up the ranks to be Westmeath No.1.A great striker of the ball and has the ability to put the ball where ever he chooses and makes a seventh defender with his reading of the game.Has represented Westmeath at U14,U16,U21 and senior.Holder of U18 & Junior chamionship medals,Leinster and North Leinster schools medals and Leinster U21 B in 2012.

Simon McCarthy Age 19
Simon is another who has come up through the ranks and has turned into a great hurler. Got injured earlier in the year but has showed huge interest to get back training and into the team. Simon has sublime speed and knows where the goals are. Simon played for Westmeath U14 and 16. He also has 2 north leinster and 2 leinster schools medals for St. Marys.
Tomas 'MOSSY' Brennan Age 22
Mossy,brother to JJ is another player that has emerged up through the ranks, and gives his all on any given day. Has no fear and has a great head for the game, would love to capture a win today. He is also a dual player and plays his football with Multy. Has won a north leinster school hurling U16, 1 minor championship and 1 junior championship.

Tommy Caserly Age 39
Tommy is a great club man with a great head for the game, gives alot of good advice to the younger members of the panel and has proven in the past that he is the man for the big day, scoring 3 goals in an intermediate final. Also taking part in his sixth intermediate final and would love to add to his medal collection today. Has won 3 intermediate. Cups, 2 junior and 1 intermediate Championship medals.
