2012 championship draws
January 27, 2012

Last year's winning senior captains Andrew Mitchell (Clonkill) and Garrycastle's John Gaffey. Who will raise the silverware in 2012?
The draws were made for the 2012 senior hurling and football championships at Cusack Park on Wednesday night.
In the senior hurling championship, which has a new format, champions Clonkill have been drawn in the same group as 2010 winners Raharney, St. Oliver Plunkett's and newly-promoted St. Brigid's. The other group comprises Castletown-Geoghegan, Lough Lene Gaels, Castlepollard and Delvin.
Despite being seeded this year, the senior football championship draw has thrown up a number of mouth-watering fixtures, none more so that the first round meeting of local rivals Mullingar Shamrocks and St. Loman's. County and Leinster champions Garrycastle, who have been drawn in the other group, will open their title defence against Tyrrellspass in what is a repeat of last year's semi-final.
