Westmeath's Declan Mullen gets away from DIT's Aidan O'Shea during the O'Byrne Cup Shield at Kinnegad
After been knocked out of the cup by holders Kildare last weekend, Dublin IT recorded an impressive three point win over Westmeath at Kinnegad on Sunday afternoon.
The home side led by two points at the break - 0-9 to 0-7 but a strong second half performance from the students saw them run out 0-16 to 0-13 winners over the hour.
Dublin youngster Harry Dawson set the tone for DIT after the break with a brace of points to level the game before Offaly's Bernard Allen pushed them ahead. The visitors never looked back.
DIT now advance to the semi finals of the shield where they will face Laois, Louth or Wicklow.
