Castledaly club notes

Lotto Draw next week January 19th in Fitzgerald's Lounge with jackpot €9,800. All welcome.  Massive thanks to everyone who has supported this essential fundraising project every two weeks throughout the year. 

 

Castledaly GAA are participating in GAA initiative again this year with Operation Transformation starting Monday 20th 7pm at walking track. All welcome to join under guidance of our amazing leader Paulette.

Ladies Gaelic Football Association AGM.

The inaugural AGM of Castledaly LGFA Club will take place on Saturday 18th January @ 7:30pm in the Clubhouse. The Club is being set up with the aim of providing girls' football at Under-8 and Under-10 grades. Everyone is welcome, especially parents of girls playing in these age groups.  

 

Castledaly Fit Club continues Monday Wednesday Friday with ladies’ classes at 7 and gents at 8pm under the  expert guidance of Liam Lorcan and Paulette. Junior Fit Club on Tuesdays.  

 

The Walking Track is very  popular at this time of year, providing a safe and well lit environment for our growing numbers of walking warriors who brave the elements daily to enjoy their daily fitness exercise.  The track is open to all members.

 

Bad luck to Westmeath Seniors losing out to neighbours Offaly on Saturday,  while U20s won over Armagh.  Castledaly were ably represented by Seniors Alan Stone while Lorcan Dolan hit target twice , and Aaron Nugent starred for U20s.

Congrats again to Moate Scór na nÓg Junior Ballad group of Cara Johnston, Mia Curtain, Anna Sheerin, James Costello and Ben O Connell who won the Leinster Final on Sunday with a wonderful performance under the guidance of Senior Scór Ballad legend Louise Heavin.  The All Ireland Final is scheduled for Sunday  in INEC Killarney, and we wish them the very best of luck.

 

Sad news and condolences to family and friends of Bobby Simpson who passed away last week, may he rest in peace.
