Under 8 & 10s.
Our Under 8 and 10 players got their season up and running with short
journey to play Athlone over the weekend. The Under 8 boys and girls
played Saturday morning and Under 10s played Sunday morning and as
always their attitude and skill levels were to be
admired.
Under 10 team: Fionn, Ally, Brian, Jacob, James, Joe, Charlie,
Finnian, Alex, Michael,
Aine, Aoibhe, Aoibhainn, Sophie, Gemma, Tadhg, Logan, Keira, Eoin, Joe,
Nathan, Eoin, Anna, Emily, Grace, Mary, Niamh Georgia.
A great group of 18 kids played in 2 teams and produced very good performances
despite cold conditions. Well done to all players and mentors involved.
Massive THANK YOU to Athlone GAA for being such good hosts and special
mention Athlone referees who were very helpful in implementing the Go
Games rules.
It is an exciting week for all players, parents and coaches involved
with our Under 8 team as next Saturday Castledaly will take part in
the GAA 'Stay and Play ' games in Croke Park. The players are due to
take to the famous pitch at 12.00 against Straffan
in what promises to be a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
LOTTO Draw new jackpot €5,600 with draw on 14th April in Ftizgeralds
Lounge Castledaly. Thanks to everyone for their support.
Club membership is due for new year and as per AGM the rates are Adult 35
euro Under 18s & OAPs 15 euro Family 60 euro. Membership can be paid
to club registrar Damien Stone.
Castledaly Fit Club continues each week Monday Wednesday Friday with ladies
classes at 7 and gents at 8pm under the expert guidance of Liam Lorcan and
Paulette.
Walking Track looks inviting in the long bright evening hours. available
to club members it is always great to see people making use of this
wonderful facility.
UnderAge Training continues for Under 6 (born 2013/14) and Under 8 (born
2011/12) boys and girls at Castledaly pitch Fridays at 6.30pm. The emphasis
in training is on fun and enjoying sport. New players are always welcome to
attend.
Castledaly GAA will host a 25th anniversary celebration of their 1994
County Football Intermediate Championship team with Dinner Dance and
Presentation in the Grand Hotel Moate April 20th 8pm with entertainment by
The Secrets. Tickets available from committee members 30 euro to mark this
historic occasion. Photos or videos of the day would be appreciated.
Congrats to Jack Cooney and Westmeath footballers on securing promotion to
Div2 next year after a year of hard fought victories. Well deserved. Ìarmhi

Congrats to Moate Community School who won Lidl All-Ireland Post-Primary
Schools Junior B Final against Coláiste Oiriall (Monaghan).
Castledaly were represented by player Anna Sheerin and trainer Patrice
Smyth - both young ladies who competed in the Castledaly jersey with
pride at Under age 8s n 10s
before graduating to Moate Ladies and Westmeath Ladies, as well as Moate CS.
