Match Reports
Moate All Whites U16 travelled to Rochfortbridge on Monday evening last to take on the home side in the latest round of the U16 Division 1 league.
Played in good conditions both teams served up an entertaining hour's football.
The home side started brightly scoring a couple of points and raced into an early lead. Despite this the Moate lads soon got into their stride getting the scoreboard moving. As the first half drew to a close a Moate goal left the visitors with a comfortable lead at half time.
The second was low scoring with 20minutes having elapsed before the first point was recorded. Moate scored a couple of late goals to run out comfortable winners in the end.
As in previous match's the Moate lads gave their all both in defence and attack.

Training for U10 new pitch Tuesday
Moate v Millmore Gaels U14
Moate travelled to Ballymore on Thursday evening for round 3 of our Division 1 league campaign.Again the weather played it's part with a very blustery wind which Moate failed to take advantage of in the first half going in 1-5 to 1-4 down at the break. Millmore did take full advantage of the strong breeze in the second half and increased their lead after a great start. Moate were always playing catch up at this stage but continued to try hard until the end but Millmore proved to strong going on to win the game comfortably.
MINOR LEAGUE
MAW 2-4 CILL OIGE 1-5
The lads kicked off the year with a hard fought win over the neighbours who made sure the
result was in doubt up to the final whistle.Weather conditions played their part in keeping
Cill Oige scoreless in the first half together with terrific defending particularly from Troy
Bradley, Oisin Johnston and David Grenham. Our first half goal came from the industrious
Phillip King and we led 1-4 to no score at the break.A sweeping move at the start of the
second half started and finished by Garbhan Cunningham gave us the platform we needed
as we were soon reduced to 14 men following a red card.In fairness there followed a serious
rearguard action from the lads in which they showed a great appetite for work all over the
field and held on for the win.Panel;Owen Higgins,Jordan Simpson,Troy Bradley,Oisin

ACFL DIV 3
MAW 2-18 Mullingar Shamrocks 1-9
The basis for this win was a strong first half performance where we played some decent
stuff despite the inclement weather.Goals from Robbie Forde and john Corbally were the
minimum we deserved for the fast flowing football we were playing and where Billy Berry
was creating havoc and we went in 2-11 to 1-4 up at the break. The 2 nd half was a mundane
affair and we saw the game out comfortably enough.Sean Bracken was rock solid at the
back and was well supported by Ruairi Cunningham and Robbie Forde in the middle and
Paul Sheridan and John Corbally up front.Panel;Darren McCardle,Sean Bracken,Andrew

CAULRY 3-11 MAW 0-6
Resources were stretched for this fixture and with an average age of just over 20 on duty
this was just too much of an ask. That said we had plenty of chances and our finishing and
final ball once again let us down when in good positions. Our opposition were far more
clinical and hopefully our lads can learn from this.Nevertheless plenty to be encouraged
about going forward.Panel;Owen Higgins,Gary Hurley,Andrew Gorman,Nicky Hamm,Callum

We would like to compliment Caulry on their new pitch and their upgraded facilities which
were looking great.
