MATCH Castledaly Seniors carved out a win with a tough second half
performance , capping two goal hero Fergal Hynes Ballymore started
well with points from play and free kicks,before Castledaly replied
with point from play Alan Stone followed by Dan Heavin fine long range
effort . On 16mins Ballymore hit back with goal from play but
Castledaly hit back immediately as Lorcan Dolan found Fergal Hynes
ghosting into the area unseen to finish neatly to back of the net for
his first major. Alan Stone and Paddy Holloway were busy battling
their midfield contest but Holloway popped up in right place at right
time to add a fine point from play . Ballymore next point was
cancelled out by Aaron Nugent point from play which left

2nd half Castledaly missed few chances before Ballymore pointed from
free kick. A second point from play Alan Stone
was followed up by MARK from Paddy Holloway and his fine pass to Dan
Heavin added a fine score on the run. Ballymore added two points
before Lorcan Dolan added from play and a free kick. Dolan and Aaron
Nugent combined neatly in corner before spotting Fergal Hynes free in
the area to add his second goal of the day. Moments later Paddy
Holloway strode through the Ballymore stunned defence and again
rattled the back of the net to give Castledaly a comfortable lead.
A point from play from sub MJ Kelly was followed by scores from Hynes
and Lorcan Dolan before Aaron Nugent added his effort to finish the
game.

CASTLEDALY played some great football in the first half with strong
assisting wind but tubberclaire started best, points from play before
Cathal Dolan tapped his first score of the day over the bar. Cathal
added two points more minutes later from free kicks on 14th and 16th
minute, before Stephen Hardiman capped a fine Senior performance with
a quality point on the run. Tubberclaire replied with two scores
from play before Hugh Owens added a well taken point on a strong solo
run. Tubberclaire equalised to reach Half time score: ACFL D5

2nd half start: with Tubberclaire added three points without reply,
while Hugh OWens saw his shot saved, while Colin Doyle and CAlvin
Farrell both saw their efforts go narrowly wide. Paul Henson fielded
the kick out and slide his pass to running Cathal Dolan who neatly
divided the uprights for another point. As Castledaly began to find
their stride, another well worked forward combination released Stephen
Hardiman to neatly side step the goalkeeper for a goal.
With Castledaly stealing the lead, the physical contest increased and
Mark KEarney was introduced for injured Hugh Owens. From the
resulting free kick young Cathal Dolan tapped over for the reward.
Calvin Farrell saw a shot deflected out for 45 without reward before
Tubberclaire replied with point from play
A fine save from Eanna Duffy in goal was undone as the following up
home attack shuffled the ball across the line. with only minutes
remaining, Tubberclaire seized the lead and with three points
without reply they took full points for the win.

Castledaly Fit Club continues each week Monday Wednesday Friday with ladies
classes at 7 and gents at 8pm under the expert guidance of Liam Lorcan and
Paulette.

There is a lovely stretch in the evenings...said every Irish person
everywhere.. The Walking Track lights are on from 8 to late for club
members who are looking for safe environment for their daily walk at this
darker evenings time of year. It is always great to see people making use
of this wonderful facility.
#CastledalyGAA UnderAge Indoor training for Under 6 (born 2013/14) and
Under 8 (born 2011/12) boys and girls begins on Sunday 3rd March at 11.30am
in Moate Community centre. There will be three more indoor sessions on
March 10th, 24th and 31st training moves to Castledaly pitch on Friday
April 5th at 6.30pm. The emphasis in training is on fun and enjoying sport.
New players are always welcome to attend.
